Doppelbock
Fellow beer nuts, what do you think of Doppelbock? It seems that the big 3 are Paulaner Salvator, Ayinger Celebrator and Spaten Optimator.
A doppelbock is the perfect beer for a cold winter day. I've enjoyed several Salvators and Celebrators. I find the Salvator a bit easier drinking - by no means a session beer, we're speaking relatively here. The Celebrator is a commitment! It's very rich and full bodied. I haven't had the Optimator. Is it worth checking out? Are there any hidden gems out there?
