Tom Petty

I just read a report that Tom Petty was found in full cardiac arrest and not breathing , EMT's were able to get a pulse , rushed to hospital , but , was removed from life support.

Rest easy Sir. You'll be sadly missed.

I do hope it was not self inflicted - i.e. last dance with the white pony...

He will be missed. I don't think they've released any new material in a few years, but, there's quite a lot of Tom Petty tunes that I'll happily listen to over and over again...

The interwebs are acrawl with various reports including fact that LAPD have not received any word of his demise, others say he's on life support (and others say he has a DNR so...?).

We'll know when we know - and god, please, if he goes to heaven, let my dad meet him?

Age 66. Didn't seem that old. But he had to be, didn't he?

Fake means entirely fabricated. Not the case here. The authorities releasing the info got their facts muddled. He may not have been quite as dead as first reported. Evidently he was removed from life support (causing the incorrect assumption he was dead at that time.) and then lingered awhile. Now it seems, he is well and truly dead.

Tom Petty is gone? "I Need To Know" or else I will have a "Breakdown". "The Waiting" is getting to me, but "I Won't Back Down" from what I am hearing. Was he "Free Fallin'" or just "Learning To Fly"?

I'm listening to his greatest hits cd and "Refuge" is playing. Damn.
