Navy flake-- how to obtain proper humidity?

So I caved and bought a tin of MacBaren's navy flake today, and was wondering---with other tobaccos you lob it all in a mason jar to store...with a flake cut it seems that option wouldn't work, or else would defeat the purpose of flake..

So my quetsion is, do I need to just leave the tin open for a bit so the tobacco dries somewhat or is it more or less good to go as it is?
