Esteban Carreras Mr. Brownstone Smack
Esteban Carreras released a new line this year at IPCPR in Las Vegas. The name is Mr. Brownstone, which is drug culture slang for heroin. The three sizes are Speedball (robusto), Mainline (corona gorda) and Smack (toro).
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Binder: Ecuadorian Habano Filler: Nicaragua (Condega and Jalapa) This cigar has a smooth Maduro wrapper that has aromas of dark chocolate and cedar. The foot also has the same aromas. The bunch is firm and the cold draw is perfect. Tonight's beverage is a Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. The initial notes are cedar and cocoa nibs. There is plentiful rich smoke. The cigar is medium to full body. The burn is even and the ash is light grey. This is an excellently constructed cigar. At the first third the burn is very even and the ash is holding solid. The cedar notes remain while the cocoa notes are more of a dark chocolate now. A bit of black pepper has appeared in the retrohale. The ash dropped at the end of the first third. The cigar is burning very slowly with plentiful smoke. During the second third the cedar and chocolate notes remain strong while the pepper strengthens. The burn continues to be even while the ash drops at regular intervals. The ale is a very good match with the chocolate notes playing off of the cigar's flavors nicely. Approaching the final inch the cedar and chocolate notes are finishing strong. The black pepper notes are blending in nicely. This is an excellent cigar. It earns 9.25/10. Joe Bob says check it out.

I like interesting names for cigars, but the heroin theme is a bit much for me.

I've heard nothing but good things about this stick. Looking forward to giving it a go. Thanks for the review.

Sounds like a nice smoke but I think the drug related theme is not appropriate.

Went to my LCS this week and the manager gave me a Mr. Brownstone that he was given by the rep. The store has placed an order awaiting delivery. Can't wait to try it but I too believe bad name choice.

I will admit I was taken a bit aback by the drug reference, but they are damn good smokes. Besides, Chupacabra Hellcat wasn't the best name last year, but it's a damn fine cigar.

I guess it's attempt to draw attention. If you are intrigued by the name, maybe you'll try the cigar.
