Percy Sledge is at the blues hall tomorrow night but owner is charging 50 bucks a ticket. It is gonna be an empty place.

100 bucks for a couple to go see PS just ain't gonna draw people.

Would YOU pay it...?

I don't know who I would pay 50 to see maybe the Stones in a non crowded club.

I wouldn't go.

Even if they had a free buffet and drinks like the last Van Hagar tour tried to lure people to the arena with...no freakin' way!

What was his last hit again....(crickets chirping and Jeopardy theme music plays in the background)...when was it?

50 bucks to see the Stones? Paid that on the Voodoo Lounge tour in Lansing MI. Best damn money ever spent. I'd still pay 50 bucks to see them at an arena too, hell if they record another album...I'll be there!

with all due respect he was inducted to the RnR HOF last month and his new CD got 3.5 out of 4 in Rolling Stone. My point being Percy is still doing great NEW music & not living on his past. He has two recent CDs, one live that has got great reviews.

Can you name a 60+ year old that has had a hit in your lifetime. Having a hit is what kids have, Hendrix or the Bealtes could not get a 'hit' in todays music bidness.

I only point this out cause so many older artists reahash the same material do 'greatest hits' shows. Percy (and others) should be recognized as continuing to move forward.

I feel sorry for Percy not his fault the place will be empty. I get in free of course but I am not going due to other commitments.

I do not know anyone that is going.

That's a shame they're trying to charge so much.

No, I wouldn't pay that price. It would have to be someone I REALLY wanted to see & hear to pay that price.

You can see PS. in the Casinos on the Coast for way less, sometimes for free.

I know. I have tried to tell the man. He is just ignorant-stubborn so I gave up. Let him figure it out himself. It's a shame, I guarantee it is one of the best music halls you ever been in - cigar friendly. Awesome - everyone agrees but it just ain't gonna make it this way.

He wants to get Bobby Rush for an event but BR has to agree to do a family type show. That's like asking Parliment Funkedlic to not be funky.
