chasing the needle

I've encountered a problem pilots like to call chasing the needle.

I can't seem to keep the humidity in my humidor for more than a day or two and don't know why. I have a passive humidifier, however i just use water. can't seem to find ppg anywhere around here. any recommendations on how I might stabilize my humi? I don't want any exploding cigars on my hands.

Thanks in advance.
