(new) Cupido Revolucion, Please weigh-in
I've heard so much on this board about Cupidos that I bought a box of Cupido Criollo Revolucion before ever having tried one. This cigar has a beautifully box pressed, dark, satiny wrapper with a rough cap. I fired one up right out of the box about an hour after it came off of the UPS truck. I was very pleased with the amount of nice white smoke this cigar produced, just as I had read on CW. However, the cigar immediately tunneled leaving the wrapper unburnt and requiring constant touch-ups to keep it burning evenly. Of course, I realize the burn flaws could very-well be the result of less than satisfactory humidification caused by the vicissitudes of shipping.
That being said, I must say I wasn't all that impressed with the flavor. It was kind of one dimensional and a little harsh. All of this leads me to ask the question: Do the rave reviews I read on this board intend to compare Cupidos to other premium cigars such as Fuentes, RPs, CAOs, and Padrons; or are they merely so enthusiastically congratulatory in relation to the very-affordable price? I have never been lead astray by the BOTLs here. I'll be very interested to read all of your responses. -AM
