LP's to CD's (Bluegrass)
At one time (15 years ago) I had a pretty good collection of classic bluegrass LP's many of which are now long out of print. After my divorce I had squat. Anyway I have been trying to replace these classics and since I am not a collector CD format is just fine. In fact it is better since cars today don't seem to have turntables in them.
This led to two problems. First, many of the albums I am trying to re-acquire are out of print and never existed in any format but vinyl, and second, when you do get them in vinyl format it isn't very convenient as you would really rather have CD's for listening purposes. Through some searches I was able to find outfits that convert LP's to CD at a fairly reasonable fee ($25). Just recently I was able to acquire and convert the Reno & Smiley LP "Last Time Together". man, what a great LP. "The Country Side of Heaven Where the Bluegrass Music Flows" is just fabulous. "Christmas Time's A'comin'" is a fabulous bluegrass Christmas song (Patty Loveless had it on her recent XMas CD), and "A Holiday Religion" is just classic.
