JR Ultimate Corona Maduro
JR Ultimate Corona Maduro
(45 X 5-5/8) Box Date: 2/25/2005 I picked up a box of these a couple months ago off the JR Auction at a really low price. Somehow I got lucky on that one. The wrapper was almost black. I'd have called this oscuro. A really nice looking wrapper for sure. The construction solid, the cigar had a heavy feel in the hand. Had a nice barnyard prelight aroma. The smoking experience was top-notch. Nothing "fancy" on the flavor profile, just full flavored tobacco with a touch of maduro sweetness. I'd call the body on the full side of medium. I've been smoking a lot of boutique cigars lately with their complex, spicy flavor profiles. This cigar brought me right back to the basics of what a true solid cigar is all about. When you sit down and slowly savor a JR Ultimate it's like having a beer with an old friend. It brings ya back to your roots. Glad I've got 24 more of these bad boys to burn. |
