With the exception of Booker's, the best of the JB small-batch Bourbons by 10 lengths as far as I'm concerned.

A fitting partner there too, Karl.

I prefer Knob Creek over Booker's (and the other small batch blends).

Glad ya liked it. I'd also suggest that your lancero would go very nicely with a dram of Woodford Reserve cut slightly with a splash of water.

I drink Knob by the gallon now...

Pappy Van Winkle 15 and a Hoyo Short Robusto.
The Pappy is simply sublime. As good as the Stagg but another dimension.

Love Knob Creek. I agree with Jazznut, it comes in a close second to Booker's, and the rest of the Beam line lags way behind.

I would however be more than a little interested to know how Basil Hayens would be at say, 90 or a bit higher.

Me too! The aroma is undeniably superb. And opening on the palate, the spices flit about in such lively fashion that it makes one hope for something much better than what actually follows. A higher proof just might fill out the whiskey texturally and add some additional sweetness and length.

I've found a liquor store in town that has mini bottles of a number of high end distillations. So far I've had Bulleit and Knob Creek. Honestly I preferred the bulleit better, but the knob creek was pretty tasty. A little hot IMHO (drinking this out of scotch tasting glass..) but very flavorful

I find Knob Creek to be more consistent than Bookers.
