Xikar Cutters
What is the difference between the 1, 2, and 3?
When I read their site I see some slight aesthetic differences, but the metal is the same: 440C stainless steel blades with a Rockwell HRC 57 rating.

Yes, according to one of their reps they are all mechanically the same, same steel, blades, etc.
The only difference is the outer casing material, wood, composite, titanium, etc.

I don't believe that they change the mechanism at all. Pointless. Buy the prefinished parts in volume and any difference will be insignificant over the total cost.
Any difference between grades is almost certainly just what the scale is made of and other finish options. |

When they first came out, the blades were Solingen steel. They use Chinese steel now. I won't be sending in my original Xi for any reason.

Yep! I've got Solingen blades as well. Think I'll just keep them.

It's still great that they replace any cutter or lighter free when ever it fails. They even replace it if you ruin the finish on it. My buddies and I had cutters and lighters replaced with no questions ask. Lighters always crap out after awhile, it's nice getting it replaced for free.

I have one of each.
Both cut equally well. I guess, after a couple hundred more cigars I might notice a difference?
