ALexander Murrat & Co 21 Year Old Single Malt

I haven't seen this one before but it was on sell for $81 so I had to try it. Bottled in 1991 at the Longmorn Distillery. Great nose of oranges(?) and an outstanding drink. I need to go get some more of this.

This is a top-notch Highland distillery, which is located nearby BenRiach. Currently, the most widely available official distillery release is a 16-year old, which is bottled at a 'proper' 48% ABV. It's quite delicious.

If you ever happen upon any 'dusty' bottles of the previous 15-year old distillery edition (bottled at 45% ABV), don't hesitate to grab them. This version was first marketed when the site was owned by Seagrams, and continued to be bottled after Longmorn was sold to Pernod-Ricard.

Apparently, the Alexander Murray & Co. release you're enjoying was drawn exclusively from ex-Bourbon casks. The distillery releases, in contrast, also contain a significant amount of malt whisky that has been matured in ex-Sherry oak.

Among other independent bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail is well known for its bottlings of Longmorn.

Any bottle of Longmorn I've had has never lasted too long.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.

.
The store I got it from had about ten or twelve different kinds, most of them 21 year olds from different years but some other ones as well so I will definitely go look for the 15 you mention.
The price range was amazing how much it differed from year to the next. For example, the one I bought was in the $80's, the year before and after were around $120.

Just make certain you focus on official distillery issues (i.e. bottled by the distillery itself, and not by independent bottlers) when you're eyeballing the 15 and 16-year old editions I've mentioned.
