Looking for some ideas

I am looking to purchase a single serve coffee maker. One that does not use K-Cups or pods. I currently have a Black & Decker model. It makes great coffee, but is slow. The new one I purchase also has to have an auto shut-off. Also, price is also a factor (< $80.00).

Any suggestions?

Cool

Get a refillable pod?

Yep.

What Ted says. I've been a fan of the AP for many many moons. We use it daily and have for years.

Best,
J.

Mikey won't be able to use an aeropress with his arthritis. It is not a viable choice for him. Great suggestion, but just not going to work

I'm thinking about buying this one. What are your thoughts on it?

You could look at this brentwood - http://amzn.to/1m7Oimx
or this
cuisinart 4 cup http://amzn.to/1RIZVx7

Both have auto shut-off.
The cuisinart is a traditional '4 cup' - meaning it makes about ~25oz of coffee.

if you OWN a Keurig already, I use these: http://amzn.to/1RJ04kf
refillable ones. You use more coffee per 'cup' with a single brew system though.

The Brentwood looks good. It is a maybe. The Cuisinart is a no go. I can't handle a carafe type brewer.
I do not have a Keurig, nor will I ever own one. They tend to plug up and then you have use a paper clip to clean the needles. I can't care for them due the arthritis.

I think I may purchase the Kitchenaid.
