Romeo y Julieta Reserve Maduro No. 4(aka Corona)
The pre-light draw is encouraging. It is a sweet tobacco flavor reminiscent of chewing tobacco, which is near and dear to my heart…
Hand rolled in the Dominican Republic, the Romeo y Julieta Reserve maduro is a more robust alternative to the classic Romeo y Julieta 1875 line. A tasty Nicaraguan binder and a bold blend of Nicaraguan, Peruvian and Dominican long fillers finish out the cigar, making for a deep, fuller-bodied smoke boasting a lovely aroma and taste. Romeo y Julieta Reserve Maduro was Rated a 90 in the April 2003 Cigar Insider. [https://www.cigar.com/p/romeo-y-juli...gars/1411925/] Well, 2003 is a bit ago, but hopefully it remains true today! I’m getting a little more oomph here, but it isn’t anything to write home about. I’m not sure what I was expecting. Perhaps if I would have started with this one my experience would have been different. Good news is that corona size smokes faster than others…ha! The take away may be that if you have to smoke a RyJ, smoke a maudro….Other than a bit of a tight draw, I think this is true.
