Hard to get full water absorption in my Credo 70's.

I have three Credo 70's in my 'dor. The problem is that they don't feel like they are absorbing all the water. I was using straight distilled, but last week I used 50/50 and it seems a little better. But can anyone tell me why the Credos don't seem to be able to absorb a full amount of water? They're only a couple of months old. What boggles my mind is that the first week that I got them they sucked up lots of water and would get heavy. Now they don't get heavy with water like they did when they were new. The same thing happened with my last devices. WTF? I need some advice on this!
