Esteban Careras Chupacabra Hellcat
Paper-wrapped cigar with a closed foot and a pigtail. Removing the wrapper reveals a smooth oily dark wrapper with a nice box press. Unlike some box pressed cigars it’s firm and not at all spongy. The burn is nice and even while the ash looks like it could drop at any time. As with most Carreras cigars the main tasting note is high-quality tobacco with cedar and leather notes not far behind.
The second third continues to be full of flavorful smoke. A nice pepper has developed in the retrohale. The cigar continues to burn even and has excellent construction. Approaching the final inch the smoke has heated up a bit, but nothing a few small purges can’t correct. Overall this is an excellent cigar that earns a 9.25/10. Joe Bob says check it out.
