Neglected tropical humidor

Got about 50 sticks in my el cheepo humidor that I started with many moons ago. I say neglected and I mean it....we didn't make it down to our cozumel home this summer so they just sat in Tropical heat and humidity for the past eight months. Opened it up fearing the worst but was greeted by the sweet smell of Spanish cedar and moist tobacco. When I say moist I mean it. The montecristo Ed ltd from 2012 was soft as a sponge, but it lit right up and is burning and drawing like a champ! Maybe maintaining a set humidity and temp is overrated? Maybe it's the hand squeezed margaritas I'm drinking?m maybe I'm just delusional from flying since 4am? Or it could just be the fact that I'm sitting in a hammock, on my porch, on a tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean looking at the ocean......
