Cuaba Salamones
Box date 2003, box has been in humi for over 4 years.
Lighter Colorado wrapper (light tan), very smooth, firm consistent feel, mild grassy aroma This size cigar really makes me think old style habanos as it's the shape I always remember seeing the grownups smoking when I was a kid. This cigar has a perfect draw, even right from the first before the perfecto head was gone. Very smooth, a light herbal and caramel flavor. Very pleasant. None of the grassiness I have always associated with Cuabas. As the smoke continued, the caramel flavor kept intensifying while the herbal taste dissapated. By the middle, the body was full, the smoke was very thick and the flavor very full. Definitely not in the same vein as the same size Partagas Salamones I've had, none of the spice at all. Still very smooth. Smoked this one all the way to the end, which I normally do not do. A very enjoyaable cigar that I'm glad I didn't smoke too fresh. Will try another next year.
