first time pipe smoker

Well just figured i'd drop a line cause i finally smoked my first pipe today. I liked it a fair bit but found the tobacco to be way to mild for my taste. Anybody got any recommendations for me on a good full flavored tobacco and perhaps even a good aromatic?

Hey Clinton ... Nice of you to drop by.

So what tobacco did you smoke?
Was there anything about it you enjoyed?
Have you tried any other blends?
What kind of pipe did you use?

There are such a WIDE variety of tobaccos available that it's often quite difficult to give recommendations until you've tried a number of different ones and can offer some of your likes and dislikes for each one.

Also note that the amount of moisture in the tobacco ... the way you pack your pipe ... how fast you smoke it ... and the type and condition of your pipe will all affect your experience.

Welcome Clinton, I hope that you stick with the pipe for a while and give a fair chance. Ted gave some good advice. There are so many tobaccos out there. A good place on the net I like to goto when I am looking for a new tobacco is http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/index.cfm They have reviews on thousands of pipe tobaccos.

Because I came over to pipes from cigars I wanted stronger pipe tobacco and I found Dunhill 965. This is what they call an English blend.

There is so much information around here be sure to ask any questions you might have we were all newbies once.

Again welcome

Tony

I'd suggest Dunhill's My Mixture 965 and House of Windsor's "Revelation"

I agree... Thats a bit too full for my self... But I do like it when I'm in the mood for a fuller bodied pipe tobacco...
