I just read the very first page of this thread. It was written By Linn in Aug 2002. Al most everything he said then still applies now, except for the prices of course. Still a great read, if you haven't read it recently go back and read it again. It still is very informative.

Does anyone have thoughts on Bullet bourbon 10-year-old? I bought a bottle and I was not impressed. There are better bourbons out there for less money. The Bullet seemed to taste antiseptic and didn't have a favorable aftertaste. It also seemed light with no real Vanella or honey or any real enjoyable flavor at all. I use it as a mixer, not a sipping whiskey.

Bulleit used to source from Four Roses and their 10 year was very similar to 4R single barrel. Today it seems like they pour Seagrams over a pile of used toothpicks. Too woody and dry for me.

The rye version has gone even further downhill than the bourbon.

I had a bit of the latest Doc Swinson's last week and it's epic. I'm not paying the $190 a bottle they want, but it's likely worth that in today's market.

Nice catch! I picked up an old reliable for Christmas. Redemption rye.
