This cigar has a nice medium brown wrapper that is smooth and oily with mild aromas from the wrapper and foot. It has a mostly firm bunch and a perfect cold draw. Tonight's beverage is a Shiner 777 IPL seasonal.

Initial notes are toasted tobacco with a light sweetness. The wrapper notes remind me of other cigars using a pele d' oro wrapper (not sure why the spelling is different). It is burning even and the ash is light grey. This cigar may be a bit light bodied for a hop-forward beer.

Switching to a German Oktoberfest beer. This cigar has the velvety mouth feel of a European cigar, not unlike a Davidoff. It is definitely a light to medium bodied smoke. The first third continues to be elegant. The toasty notes remain with some cedar appearing. The burn continues to be even and the ash is not flaky but got knocked off during the beer change. Since then, it looks to be very solid.

During the second third the flavors remain essentially unchanged. The burn continues to be even and the ash is still solid. The marzen beer is a better match than the IPL, but perhaps the cigar would be better with a port or a brandy.

Approaching the final inch the cedar and toasted tobacco notes remain firm. This is not necessarily a one-dimensional cigar, but more complexity would have been better. The construction is immaculate and the burn continues to be perfect. The volume of smoke is plentiful and smooth and overall this is a very pleasant cigar. 7.5/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
