Hoyo De Depute

Sampled my first Hoyo De Depute from a cab marked FR NNSU(11/98).

Apprearance
A nicely constructed small cigar. The wrapper was a darker shade of milk chocolate color with a noticable oily shine. Slightly spongy when squeezed, but with no major soft spots. Perfect triple cap and nicely bunched foot. The cigar I choose was touching the ribbon so it had a slight dent and curve on one side.

Pre-light
Nice clean v-cut, easy unlit draw with prominent leather and cinnimon notes.

Tasting Notes
Initial couple draws smack you in the face with pepper and strong tobacco flavors. Wow! As a few minutes pass it calmed down to a rich leathery flavor with a wonderful long lasting twang in the back of the throat. The mid-way point was pure enjoyment, rich smooth smoke, the unmistakable cuban twang was in full effect. Final 1/3 started to get a little acrid.

Overall
A very enjoyable cigar, small in stature, but packed with great flavor and unmistakable cuban finish. In the upcoming winter months I'm sure I'll thoroughly enjoy quite few more of these.
