One of my favorite brands but one that I've had some draw problems with. This stick, from 7/00, was put away with the rest of the box 8 mos. ago to see if the draw problems would improve. A beautiful stick, dark and oily with a sheen not seen on many ISOMs of recent vintage, it cut and lit perfectly. It drew nicely with only a slight tightness. The flavors, however, were phenomenal-toffee and caramel from start to finish. A medium bodied 55 minute smoke which was pure pleasure. Perfect burn, decent draw and great taste right down to the fingernails. Rating 94.

Sorry guys- It was a Habanos SLR in case you couldn't garner that from the review.

Sounds yummy. Thanks for the review. I have been eyeballing a box from 98. How do these compare to SLR PC, SLR A, SLR Regios??

I've found the Lonsdale to be smoother than the PC with an underlying spicy element but relatively the same flavor profile as described. Compared to the A, I've enjoyed the A more than the Lonsdale. I've also noticed that the Lonsdales I've had from SLR have been quite tight on the draw which detracted from the experience a bit. It's a great smoke if the packaging wasn't so overstuffed on some of the vitolas.

Agree with Shubby on the draw issue but have found these Lonsdales to be more flavorful than the rest of this great line.

Very nice review. The lonsdale is the only one in the SLR line I've yet to sample. Guess I'll have to give it a shot.

I had draw problems with mine also. I let them sit for a year or so and they staighten
out. I have one left but I don't expect I'll get another box of lonsdales because draw problems seem to happen much more frequently. If I did get londales it would be RGs.

The most recent box of lonsdales I bought were the Diplo.#1s from7/00-phenomenal, box pressed and dark and no draw problems yet. They were so good I ordered another identical box (same codes) and they have been perfect also. You also may want to try the ERDM lonsdale-great mild-med. bodied smoke, again w/o draw problems.
